Ashwin Sundar champ
Ashwin Sundar of Speed NK Racing has been named the National champion in the premier category Formula Rolon Chevrolet, a release from the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India said. The results of the championship were withheld after the driver was involved in racing incidents in the 12th JK Tyre FMSCI National Racing Championship in Chennai on October 4.
Following an appeal against his exclusion, the results were not declared. However, a tribunal from the Indian Motor Sports Appeal Court (IMSAC) heard the appeal and gave orders reinstating Sundar's result and points in race one (for getting the third spot) and confirmed his exclusion in race two.
After the IMSAC decision, Sundar and Saran Vikram were tied with 64 points each. However, the former was declared champion by virtue of more race wins. Red Rooster Racing's Gaurav Dalal finished third with 63 points.
