Indian Davis Cupper stumbled at the final hurdle, losing the final qualifying round of the USD 1,000,000 Kremlin Open to fifth seed Illya Marchenko in Moscow today.

Bopanna, who had toppled top seed American Rajeev Ram in the first round, suffered a 1-6 0-6 bashing at the hands of his Ukranian opponent.

Marchenko broke the Indian thrice each in both the sets to carve out the comprehensive victory in just 43 minutes.

Such was the domination of Marchenko that he offered just one breakpoint to Bopanna in whole match and also saved that.
