Turmoil in the Andhra Cricket Association

Expressing concern over the rumblings in the Andhra Cricket Association (ACA), the Andhra Pradesh government is now mulling what it can do to improve the things.

"We are worried over the developments in the Andhra Cricket Association (ACA). A senior police official of the rank of Additional DG is probing the allegations of misbehaviour and harassment against Chamundeshwarinath. We are examining the issue and take a decision soon," state Sports Minister K Venkata Reddy told reporters.

The minister's statement came in the wake of the complaint lodged with the Home Minister P Sabita Reddy by some women cricketers against Chamundeshwarinath over his misbehaviour and harassment recently.

Acting on the complaint, the government has ordered an inquiry by senior police official M Ratan into the allegations.

The ACA has relieved Chamundeshwarinath as general secretary over allegations of corruption and harassment of women players.

Chamundeshwarinath has, however, denied the allegations and said it is being done at the behest of top ACA office bearers who wanted to oust him.
