London: Roger Federer's personal odyssey to win a record 15th grand slam by lifting another Wimbledon trophy runs into a Spaniard in the second round on Wednesday.

Guillermo Garcia-Lopez may be no Rafael Nadal but he is enjoying the best year of his career after winning his first tour title in May and will be a tougher test than Federer's first-round opponent Taiwan's Lu Yen-hsun.

The Swiss maestro is positively brimming with confidence after winning the French Open and determined to regain his Wimbledon title and dethrone Nadal as world number one.

Another serial trophy winner, Serena Williams, is in second-round action on Court One against Australia's Jarmila Groth, looking for her 11th grand slam title.
