Ashok Kumar's team wins the Pro-Am event


Noida: Ashok Kumar led his team to victory in the the Pro-Am event of the PGTI's season-ending BILT Open golf tournament starting here tomorrow.

Ashok's amateurs Amit Luthra, Mukhmeet Bhatia and Umesh Dubey totalled 52.2. The runners-up prize went to Rahil Gangjee s team - comprising Neelam Vederah, Gurdeep Singh and Kanwar Palta - which totalled 54.2.

Asian Tour Order of Merit winner and star attraction Jeev Milkha Singh's team comprising R R Vederah, Romesh Sobti and Nalin Chandok finished second runners-up with a total of 55.6.

The Pro-Am was played in the team scramble format where the team's best ball was chosen on every shot including the putting green.

After the best ball was chosen, all other players were to place their ball within one score card length before continuing play.

This rule was applicable on the putting green as well. A minimum of three drives of every player were taken into account for the team prize.
