New Delhi: Olympian Preeja Sreedharan and top long-distance runners like Deep Chand and Surender Singh are among the leading Indian athletes who will compete in the Airtel Delhi Half Marathon here on November 9.
Ram Singh Yadav and Kavita Raut, the top finishers among the Indian entrants last year, will return to defend their titles, according to the list of the Elite Indian male and female athletes released by the Athletics Federation of India (AFI) for the event.
Yadav, the Indian winner for the last two years, clocked 66.09 while emerging as the fastest Indian athlete in last year, a timing that fetched him the 16th position overall.
He was followed home one second later by Deep Chand, who clocked 66.10 for an overall 17th position.
Deep Chand, too, is in the AFI list, while the other fancied names include Surender Singh, Shivadan Singh, K C Ramu and Raj Kumar.
Among the women, apart from Sreedharan, the other name to watch out for is Kavita.
