BEML beat Indian Bank 2-0 in Federation Cup

Bangalore: Local outfit BEML kicked off their qualifying campaign of the 30th Federation Cup with a convincing 2-0 win over Indian Bank at Bangalore Football Stadium today.

After a barren first half in the Group A encounter, BEML raised their game and came out with two goals in quick succession to blank the rivals, who struggled to get their act together.

Md. Dadakhalandar drew the first blood in the 60th minute with a header. Two minutes later, Gopi found the target for BEML, who had the likes of Nigeria's Obinna Winners and Ghana's Samuel Jackson in their ranks.

BEML could have scored at the stroke of the break but Jotin Singh s footer hit the goal-post and bounced back.

The bankmen tried hard to hit back but could not secure a breakthrough as BEML were too good for them.
