Fernando Alonso: No hard feelings towards Hamilton
Friday, October 31, 2008 08:34 [IST]

Sao Paulo: Two-time champion Spaniard Fernando Alonso of Renault said Thursday that he had no hard feelings towards Lewis Hamilton, but still wanted his rival Felipe Massa to take the world title.

Alonso said that Briton Hamilton, 23, his former partner at McLaren Mercedes last year, was not his enemy and added that they spoke often and had great respect for one another.

Instead, he said, he had no regard for McLaren and hoped they would always lose.

Alonso said: "I have said many times that I have great respect to Lewis and we speak together. Last year was the same thing. We were in the drivers room, we speak together and we had no problems.

"But I think I will always prefer any team other than McLaren to win." As to the championship, he said he saw Hamilton as the favourite.

He said: "Lewis is the clear favourite. He is seven points ahead and here, if he finishes the race, it will be enough to win the championship.

"In the top five for him is easy -- he is quick enough to win the championship. So Lewis is going to win."
