Monday, October 13, 2008 17:36 [IST]

Bangalore: The first cricket Test match between India and Australia ended in a draw here Monday.

India were 177/4 with V.V.S. Laxman (42 not out) and Sourav Ganguly (26 not out) at the crease when the match was officially drawn before being halted twice because of poor light.

Batting first, Australia had posted 430 run in their first innings and bowled out India for 360 to take a 70 run lead in the second innings. Australia then declared their second innings at 228 for six innings this morning to post a 299 run target for the Indians.
