PCA assures 'fool proof' security for IPL matches
Thursday, May 15, 2008 17:57 [IST]
Chandigarh: In view of the Jaipur serial blasts, Punjab Cricket Association would request the state government here to provide additional forces for the remaining two IPL matches to be played in Mohali later this month.

"We will be taking extra measures so that everybody feels completely safe," BCCI joint secretary and PCA s secretary, M P Pandove told PTI today.

"In view of the Jaipur blasts, we will take all measures so that both spectators and players feel safe".

Kings XI Punjab are due to play two matches in PCA, Mohali against Deccan Chargers and Rajasthan Royals this month.

Seven matches of the Indian Premier League were to be played in Mohali, one of the venues of the IPL, and five have already been completed.

Jaipur serial blasts on Tuesday have so far claimed 64 lives.

"It's not just the BCCI or the IPL, but government is more concerned than us on the security front and we want to assure that there will be no compromise on security," he said.
