Patiala: Mizoram goalkeeper Kimi Laldawla, who has played the role of Mary Ralte in the 2007 Bollywood blockbuster Chak De! India, has earned a dubious distinction after failing in the exams for diploma in hockey at the NIS here.
Sponsored by the Mizoram government, Kimi joined the diploma course after completion of the movie.
Chak De! India won several awards, including five Filmfare awards, five Star Screen awards and a Billie Award, but Kimi did not attend any of these awards ceremonies in order to pursue studies here.
Kimi was signed for the film during a junior hockey camp at Bhopal in 2006.
On her future plans, Kimi said she would study again and would appear in supplementary examinations to be held here in the month of September.
The Mizoram player said though she had many modelling and film offers but she would strive to become a hockey coach. Source : PTI
