Kolkata: Players and athletes in Japan practice yoga to enhance their performance as part of their preparation for the Beijing Olympic games noted yoga exponent and founder of Ghosh Yoga Institute in Tokyo Jibananda Ghosh said today.

Jibananda, who is in the city to condole the death of another yoga exponent and vice-president of the Indo-Japan Association here, BIswanath Ghosh, said that it had been observed that athletes and players with yoga background achieved better results in international competitions.

He said apart from the athletes, people from different walks of life in Japan, Australia, New Zealand and other countries were now turning to yoga to keep themselves fit and avoid mental stress and strain.

Condoling the death of Biswanath Ghosh, son of yoga guru Bishnu Charan Ghosh, who had earlier performed unique yoga feats both at home and abroad, he said his death had created a big void in the yoga fraternity of the country.
