Milan: Shiv Kapur survived a wobbly front nine to bring home a card of two-under 70 that had him tied 26th after the penultimate round of the Italian Open at the Castello di Tolcinasco Golf and Country Club here.
Overnight tied 13th, Shiv began with a bang, firing an eagle on the opening hole but the joy proved shortlived as he double bogeyed the third and again dropped two shots on the ninth hole. It was the birdies on the sixth and eighth that helped him escape the front nine unscathed and even-par.
His back nine proved a bogey-free stretch and the Delhi lad birdied the 12th and 18th to sign off two-under and with a three-day tally of 11-under 205 that keeps him on course for a decent finish.
At the top, South African Hennie Otto (194) blasted a sizzling third round 63 to soar to the lead, with the trio of Robert Karlsson (69), Alvaro Velasco (64) and Christian Nilsson (64) chasing him from four shots behind. Source : PTI
