India A to tour Israel in July
Friday, May 09, 2008 16:57 [IST]
Mumbai: The India A team will visit Israel for a week in July to play against an Israeli Invitation XI comprising of players from other countries and a few homegrown cricketers.

"The India A team is to visit Israel and Australia (For Emerging Nations three-nation tournament) in July," Cricket Board sources said today.

The week-long visit to Israel, at the invitation of its cricket association (ICA) as part of the 60th anniversary celebrations of the nation, will involve a three-match series against an invitation team, which would have Adam Bacher of South Africa as one of its players.

Australian domestic cricketers Steve Herzberg, Jon Moss and Michael Klinger, Ireland cricketers Jason and Greg Molin and veteran Dutch player Roland Lefebvre are some of the players who will play for the invitation team against India A, according to information available.

The host country's invitation XI will also have local players in it.

ICA has been an associate member of the International Cricket Council since 1974.
