Daniel Chopra tied 35 after Rd 1 in Florida
Friday, May 09, 2008 15:10 [IST]
Florida: A penultimate hole bogey denied Daniel Chopra a sub-par card and the Indian-born Swede was tied 35th after an even-par opening round in the USD 9.5 million Players Championship here.

A 10th tee starter, Chopra had a birdie-bogey start, followed by a string of six par shots.

On his front nine, Chopra birdied the second hole to go one-under but once again the good work was undone by the bogey on the eighth.

Sergio Garcia fired a six-under 66 to grab the lead, with Kenny Perry and Paul Goydos chasing him from two shots behind.
