harbhajanNew Delhi: Harbhajan Singh has been slapped with an 11 match ban in the Indian Premier League for physically assaulting S. Sreesanth following a hearing here on Monday.

The off-spinner has also been fined hundred percent of his match fee for the match against Kings XI after which the incident occurred.

Harbhajan was the acting captain of the Mumbai Indians team for the match that took place in Mohali on the outskirts of Chandigarh. Team coach Lalchand Rajput has also drawn the ire of the match referee Farokh Engineer and fined 60 percent of his fee for "acting against the spirit of the game”.

Rajput was standing right behind Harbhajan when the incident occurred but did not take any action.

Kings XI Punjab had officially complained against Harbhajan's conduct.
