Thursday, April 17, 2008 18:13 [IST]

New Delhi: Dempo revived their chances of making it to the knockout phase of the AFC Cup with a 2-1 victory over Bahrain league champions Al Muharraq in their Group A match at the National Stadium near Manama today.

It was a sweet revenge for the I-League champions who lost 0-4 at home to the same opponents on April 2 and they now have six points from four matches.

Dempo will travel to Lebanon to play against Al Ansar on April 30 before taking on Sur Club of Oman in Goa on May 14 in their last group match.

Winner team of each of the five groups and three second-place finishers will make it to the quarterfinal of the continent's second tier club competition.
