New Orleans: Daniel Chopra fired a splendid 66 to soar to tied 10th place and just two behind the leaders before rain and storm truncated the penultimate round of the $6.2 million Zurich Classic here.
Only three players in the top 21 - John Senden (66), Jonathan Byrd (67) and Chopra - could finish their third round before two weather suspensions dropped curtains on proceedings.
Woody Austin, Nicholas Thompson, Briny Baird and Peter Lonard lead the chart at eight-under and the quartet would return again for their unfinished third round.
Chopra played near-perfect golf and the lone blot on the 10th hole where he dropped a shot notwithstanding, his was a sparkling round that took his three-day tally to six-under 210.
The Indian-born Swede kicked off his blemish-free front nine journey with a birdie-birdie start. He picked up another shot on the fifth and then blasted an eagle on the par-five seventh to take the turn at five-under.
Dropping a shot on the 10th could not hold him back as Chopra birdied the 16th and 18th to sign off on a high.
