Thursday, February 14, 2008 12:48 [IST]

Yangon: Myanmar will host the Asian Billiards Championships and U-21 Asian Snooker Championships here in April, local media has reported.

Asian Billiards Championships and U-21 Asian Snooker Championships, scheduled on Apr 5-12, will be held at Dusit Inya Lake Hotel here.

The host country is fielding 12 competitors - six billiards players and six snooker players - for the tournaments, the Myanmar Times reported.

Myanmar's challenge will be led by 2006 Asian Billiards Champion Aung San Oo and last year's bronze medallist Aung Htay.

Major competitors in the tournament will be India, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
