Riaz, Ayesha to lead state in Carrom tourney

Mumbai: Reigning state champions Riaz Akbar Ali and Ayesha Mohammed will lead Maharashtra in the 37th Senior National and Inter-state championship to be held in Chennai between February 2 to 7.

The Team: Mens Team - Riaz Akbar Ali captain (Ratnagiri), Vasant Vairal (Pune), Sayyad Mohsin Kasim (Jalgaon), Sanjay Mande (Thane), Hidayat Ansari (Mumbai), Pravin Dhendhe (Pune), Suhas Kambli - Coach (Sindhudurg), Janardhan V. Sangam - Manager (Nanded).

Women Team: Ayesha Mohammed - captain, Priti Bhatankar Jyotsna Yelve, Minal Lele (all Mumbai),Medha Matkari and Shubhada Aphale (both Pune).

Veteran Singles (Men): Shamaji Padaya and Babulal Shrimal (both Mumbai).

Veteran Singles (Women): Kamalini Bapat (Ratnagiri) and Vandana Tawade (Mumbai).

Official: Nathuram Patil (Raigad), Chief Referee: Avinash Virkar (Mumbai).
