No warm-up match for SA in India
Thursday, January 31, 2008 14:42 [IST]

Mumbai: South Africa will not play even one warm-up match before a Test series in India this March-April, perhaps a first for any cricket team visiting this country.

The Indian cricket board said that instead of arriving in Mumbai March 18 and playing a three-day match against India A in the city, the South African team will now land in Chennai March 21 for the three-Test series.

"It will not play a warm-up game before the first Test," said a board statement. The dates of the three Tests remain the same. Revised itinerary: Team's arrival: Chennai, March 21 1st Test: M. Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai, March 26-30 2nd Test: Sardar Patel (Gujarat) Stadium, Motera, Ahmedabad, April 3-7 3rd Test: Green Park, Kanpur, April 11-15.
