Ponting not certain to play T20
Thursday, January 31, 2008 14:09 [IST]

Melbourne: Australian captain Ricky Ponting today indicated that he was a doubtful starter for tomorrow's Twenty20 cricket match against India as he had still not fully recovered from his back injury.

Ponting said he was trying his best to recover from the back injury which he sustained on the last day of the fourth and final Test at Adelaide last week.

"I injured my back last week in Adelaide so I pretty much have been flat on my back the last couple of days, just trying to give myself the best chance to recover," he said.

Ponting had missed their previous Twenty20 match at Perth against New Zealand during the Chappell-Hadlee series in December.

"I didn't play the last Twenty20 game so if I am fit I will obviously have to come into the side somewhere," he said.
