'We'll treat T20 as warm-up game'
Thursday, January 31, 2008 10:16 [IST]

dhoni252_01Melbourne: India plan to treat their Twenty20 International against Australia as a warm-up for the Tri-Series, their captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni said today.

India, who won the inaugural Twenty20 World Cup last year, will be without injured fast bowler Rudra Pratap Singh and batsman Yuvraj Singh for tomorrow's match at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

"We will take the Twenty20 as one of the practice games," Dhoni told reporters. "We will look to win but the reserve guys have come in and joined the squad so we need to get the best out of it, and hopefully the weather will be better for cricket tomorrow. India play Australia on Sunday in Brisbane in the opening match of the Tri-Series, which also involves Sri Lanka," he added.
