R P Singh not to take further part in match
Saturday, January 26, 2008 17:05 [IST]

Adelaide: India suffered a big jolt with pace spearhead Rudra Pratap Singh being ruled out from taking any further part in the ongoing fourth and final cricket Test against Australia because of a hamstring injury.

The paceman had bowled four overs during the Australian first innings on the second day when he suffered the hamstring pull. R P Singh was treated for the injury after the day's play and went to the hospital for a scan and other tests to assess the seriousness of the injury.

The news from the Indian dressing room is that RP Singh has suffered a grade one hamstring tear and he would be out of action for two weeks. The Indians have opted to go into the crucial Test with a five-pronged bowling attack but their move could lose much of its sting with the paceman ruled out of the match now.
