Gilchrist announces retirement from Tests

gilchristAdelaide: Australian wicket-keeper Adam Gilchrist will retire at the end of the current Test against India, following criticism over his form.

The Australian keeper-batsman had claimed the world record for the most dismissals by a wicket-keeper with his 414th dismissal on the second day of the fourth Test at the Adelaide Oval.

Gilchrist has played 95 Test matches and scored 5556 runs at 47.89, with a highest score of 204 not out.
