Orissa scores 395 against rival Bengal

Cuttack: A fine century by Samir Mohanty (113) today helped Orissa to put a huge target of 395 before the rival Bengal on the third day of the four-day C K Nayudu trophy tournament at Nimpur ground here.

All the Orissa players were out for 395 in 135 overs aginst the Bengal's 227.

Carrying forward his overnight score of 73, Samir Mohanty made a century while Atish Jena added 26 more runs to his score of 40 yesterday. While Ansuman Gope made 16, Santosh Jena was out for 21 and three runs by Dhiraj Singh. Basanta Mohanty was not out with 20 runs.

Bengal's Kirti Sarkar took seven wickets by giving 144 runs while Sourav Dutta got one for 36. Debabrata Das also got one wicket at the cost of 27 runs.

Chasing the target, Bengal scored 134 by losing one wicket. While P S Bhattacharya was out for 12, Prinan Dutta was batting with 90 and Sougat Dutta (27).

Orissa's Paresh Patel picked up one wicket by giving six runs.
