Panaji: Goa will be banking on their youngsters when they take on Madhya Pradesh in their Ranji Trophy Plate B league match starting tomorrow at MCC ground, Margao.
Goa, who have won one match and managed to draw one, are in second place with eight points while Madhya Pradesh have won both their encounters and are on top with 10 points.
Goa's batsmen, especially the youngsters, have put up impressive performance against Railways with opener Swapnil Asnodkar scoring a double century, and the same team will play the next match.
Goa's coach Dodda Ganesh is optimistic of his team's chances. "Our batsmen have performed well which is a good sign. We need them to be consistent," stated Ganesh. I have pinned my hopes on the youngsters who have done well in last few matches and with seniors Swapnil Asnodkar, Arun Kumar and Ajay Ratra there to support, we have a fairly good chance to win, he added.
Madhya Pradesh, who have won both their matches against Jharkhand and Jammu and Kashmir look confident. They will be looking to Brijesh Tomar, who has been named the captain in place of Abbas Ali, to lead the team from the front.
Their bowling attack will be led by young Anand Rajan who has taken 37 wickets in nine first class matches.
