RP Singh to concentrate on line and length
Wednesday, October 31, 2007 15:33 [IST]

New Delhi: With slow sub-continent pitches being a challenge for fast bowlers, talented paceman Rudra Pratap Singh says he will concentrate on line and length for success in the upcoming one-day series against Pakistan.

With 42 wickets in 34 ODIs he has played so far and his ability to move the ball both ways, Singh has emerged as one of the frontline pace bowlers of India and he is looking for an interesting series ahead.

"I will concentrate on basics like line and length against the Pakistanis, like I do always," he told PTI on the sidelines of a felicitation programme for the Twenty20 world champion team at the Rashtrapati Bhawan.

"It should be an interesting series. Both sides are equally good," he added. Asked how would he rate Indian attack vis-a-vis Pakistan, which includes speedster Shoaib Akhtar, the Uttar Pradesh seamer said the host bowlers were in no way lesser than their counterparts.

"And only the batsmen will be affected by Shoaib's return!" he quipped and then added "it's good to see Shoaib back. Nevertheless, we also have a very good attack. Our batsmen can tackle him well," said Singh, who appeared confident after his recent successes.

RP u cud b the best bowler in indian team if u try n bowl the most deliveries on good length rather to pitch it short if u keenly observe that in ur pitch maps only those deliveries has been hit which r short pitched try n do the inswing to right handers which is ur strength to pick up wickets if u keep ur tight line then u automatically get wickets .............then good luck for ur next match ........MAY GOD BLESS U
