Kochi,: Medium pacerShanthakumaran Sreesanth yesterday (Feb 12, 2007) said it was a dream come truefor him to book a berth in the next month's cricket World Cup squad and a greatopportunity to perform well.



"It is a dream come true for me. It is God's grace. It is really a greatopportunity for me to do well," Sreesanth told sources.

Sreesanth is one of the five fast bowlers in the 15-member squad announcedtoday for the quadrennial event beginning in the West Indies from March 13.

He reached Goa this morning along with Indiateam, which lost to Sri Lankain Rajkot byfive runs yesterday. The next one-dayer will be played on Wednesday and thefourth and final ODI will be played at Visakhapatnamon Saturday.

"I am focussing on the next two games against the Sri Lankans," said,Sreesanth, the second Kerala player after Tinu Yohannan to don the Indiancolours.

On India'schances in the World Cup, he said the team had picked up its performance inrecent matches.

 Sreesanth's fatherShanthakumaran said "I was tense after the Rajkot match yesterday but I was confidentthat my son would be in the team," he said.

"We are confident of putting up a good performance in the World Cup. Atthe moment, Indiais doing very well. As a unit, we are performing well and we will put in ourbest," he said.

"We had been to the temple in the morning and our neighbours too had goneto the temple to pray for Sreesanth's selection," he added.
