Australian women's cricket team to tour India

 Melbourne: A 14-member Australian women's cricket team will tour India for a four-nation tournament in Chennai, which will also involve New Zealand and England.


The team for the competition in February-March will be led by 32-year-old South Australian Karen Rolton, ICC's woman cricketer of the year for 2006. New South Wales' Lisa Sthalekar will be the vice captain.

The team has two changes from the one that took on New Zealand in October. Alex Blackwell comes back into the squad which also has a place for uncapped South Australian, Emma Sampson. Michelle Goszko and Julie Hayes have been left out.

Australia begin their campaign against New Zealand on February 21. The teams play each other twice before the top two sides face off in the final on March 5.

Australian team: Karen Rolton (captain), Lisa Sthalekar (vice captain), Sarah Andrews, Alex Blackwell, Kate Blackwell, Melissa Bulow, Sarah Edwards, Cathryn Fitzpatrick, Shelley Nitschke, Kirsten Pike, Leah Poulton, Jodie Purves, Emma Sampson, Clea Smith.
