Port of Spain: Former captainClive Lloyd has been appointed manager of the West Indies cricket team duringits tour of Indiafor the four-match one-day international series starting Sunday.
Lloyd, chairman of West Indies Cricket Board's cricket committee, had travelledwith the squad as an adviser for the Champions Trophy in October. He willsucceed Tony Howard, who has been appointed WICB's chief cricket operationsofficer.
Besides, Barbados coachHendy Springer will join West Indies as atemporary assistant coach to Bennett King, WICB cricket operations officerDerrick Nicholas said.
King's regular deputy, David Moore, was not available for the one-day seriesagainst India, starting in Nagpur on January 21.
The West Indies team leaves for the tour from Antiguatomorrow.
