Sofia: Bulgarian hammerthrower Andrian Andreev has been banned for two years for doping by theInternational Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF), said Bulgaria'sathletics chief.

Andreev tested positive for an unspecified steroid at theEuropean Cup in the Serbian town of Novi Sad last June, president of the Bulgarian athleticsfederation Dobri Karamarinov said here Thursday.

Andreev, a 29-year-old policeman, finished second in thehammer at the European Cup League Group B meeting with a throw of 67.97 meters.
