Eng, NZ could be tough opponents: Hussey Thursday, January 11, 2007 03:05 [IST]
Melbourne: Australian batsman Michael Hussey said histeam did not expect to dominate the triangular one-day series against England and New Zealand despite its imperiousform this summer.
Australia whitewashed Englandin the Ashes 5-0 and won Tuesday's Twenty20 clash by 77 runs after anotherbrilliant all-round display. The world champions will also be looking to gain apsychological advantage over New Zealandahead of the World Cup in the West Indies.
But, Hussey said both Englandand New Zealandwould pose a big challenge in the triseries.
"England have got somefine cricketers, Australiahave some and I am sure it is going to be a very tough series," he wasquoted in a local radio report today.
"We have got a great rivalry with Englandand New Zealand alwaysperform very, very well against Australia"he said.
Hussey, who normally bats in the middle order, said he might bat higher upduring the one-day series, which begins with Australiaplaying Englandhere tomorrow.
The left-hander said Australia'smiddle order could be changed to cater to different scenarios.
"Sometimes tactically we like to chop and change," he said, adding"if we need a left-hander in at a certain stage then I might go up theorder a little bit to counter a tactical sort of situation.
"But we'll just have to wait and see, I think all our middle order will befairly flexible throughout the summer," he said.
