Pakistan includes Danish Kaneria in WC probable

dineshKarachi: Karachi'syoung all-rounder Fawad Alam was the only notable inclusion in Pakistan'sprovisional squad for the upcoming cricket World Cup which otherwise containedno suprise.


Alam made the shortlist, which has been sent by the selection committee to thePakistan Cricket Board, following his consistent performances in domesticcricket for the past two seasons, Pakistan Cricket Board sources said.

The World Cup is to be held in the West Indiesin March-April.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has kept January 13 as a cut-off datefor all participating nations to send their shortlist of 30 probables with thefinal 15-member squads to be named by February 13.

The list of probables is yet to be officially announced said PCB sources.

Southpaw Fawad's inclusion means that Pakistan have named two left-armspinners, Abdul Rehman being the other one, besides leg-spinner Danish Kaneria.

The board has already named Inzamam-ul Haq as the captain for the World Cup.
