New Delhi:  Sports Minister Mani Shankar Aiyar today madeit clear that the terror attacks in Assam would not have any bearing onthe National Games in Guwahati which would be held as per schedule.

Aiyar asserted that security arrangements were tight enough to hold the Games,scheduled to begin from February 9.

"From the information that I have received from the Chief Minister (TarunGogoi) and others, things seem to be going extremely well and all theorganisational arrangements have been made. The security arrangements aretight," the Sports Minister told reporters here.

"The teams are coming and we are expecting to have an excellent NationalGames," he added.

Since Friday, 69 persons have been killed in various terror attacks in Assamprompting mass exodus of non-Assamese people from the state.
