Melbourne: Cricket Australia is considering to offer Shane Warne an 'attractive proposition' as a mentor and technician to the country's emerging spinners after the end of his international career.

The Centre of Excellence, Australian cricket's Brisbane-based grooming school, runs a series of specialist camps for the country's best teenaged cricketers throughout the off-season, where Warne could contribute occasionally to help continue his own spinning legacy.

But, Cricket Australia Chief Executive James Sutherland said the new role would be offered provided there is enough time between his commitments with Hampshire and a likely seat in the Channel Nine commentary box.

"We would certainly be interested in talking to him about making a contribution off the field and one of the obvious examples of that is helping young spin bowlers around the country," Sutherland said.

"He knows so much about the art, he's always been prepared to share, and he's also always been willing and knowledgeable in helping, whether they're leg-spin bowlers or other forms of bowlers," he was quoted as saying by 'The Age'.

Since Warne is in a contract for two years to captain English county Hampshire, Sutherland suggested he could still operate on a "fly in, fly out" basis, like Dennis Lillee once did as a fast-bowling consultant.

"It might just be a fly-in, fly-out sort of scenario; it could be anything and I don't think we're in any position to speculate what that role might be but it's obviously an attractive proposition," he said.
