Pakistan win toss and field in second ODI
Thursday, December 07, 2006 03:35 [IST]

Faisalabad: Pakistan won the toss and sent the West Indies in to bat in the second one-day international at Iqbal Stadium here.

The home team was without prolific batsman Mohammad Yousuf, who was with his pregnant wife in Lahore. Yousuf accumulated 665 runs in Pakistan's 2-0 win in the three-Test series which preceded the one-day matches.

Left-arm spinner Abdul Rehman was included to make his international debut for Pakistan.

The tourists had to leave out their ace batsman Shivnarine Chanderpaul due to a slight knee injury, which made way for emerging opener Lendl Simmons to make his one-day debut.

The 21-year-old Simmons is the nephew of former opener Phil Simmons.

The first of the five-match series was washed out due to rain in Rawalpindi.
