Vengsarkar to watch Ganguly in action in Ranji game
Thursday, November 30, 2006 03:22 [IST]

New Delhi : Chairman of Selection Committee Dilip Vengsarkar would leave today for Kolkata where Bengal will play their Ranji Trophy tie against Mumbai.

Sourav Ganguly will turn out for Bengal in the tie, which has assumed importance in the light of his selection to the Indian team today for the three-Test series against South Africa.

The left-hander made 43 and also picked a five-wicket match haul in Bengal's first Ranji game of the season against Punjab in Mohali last week.

Vengsarkar, who has been asked by BCCI President Sharad Pawar to join the team in South Africa, is likely to leave on December 10, five days ahead of the start of the first Test in Johannesburg.
