Webber strikes helps Sheffield beat Watford
Wednesday, November 29, 2006 06:30 [IST]

London: A late goal by Danny Webber helped Sheffield United earn crucial three points with a 1-0 win over Watford in the English Premiership.

Webber turned the ball over the line despite a hint of offside against his former club to claim victory Tuesday.

Sheffield had the better of the game, with Rob Hulse and Christian Dade both hitting the post, but it looked like they would have to settle for a draw until three minutes from time.

Having won a free-kick, Keith Gillespie's ensuing cross was headed onto the bar by Chris Morgan, and Webber was on hand to slot home the winner.

Watford's Chris Powell was sent off for a second bookable offence in injury time.

Sheffield remain in the bottom three but are now level on points with Newcastle United and Blackburn, four ahead of Watford and Charlton Athletic.
