Melbourne: Struggling paceman Steve Harmison is racing against time to get his bowling in order before the second Ashes Test starting in Adelaide on Friday.

The Durham player was sent for a one-on-one tutorial at the Adelaide Oval yesterday within hours of England's arrival ahead of the match.

Harmison was seen diligently working on his run-up, which contributed to him delivering the now infamous wide on the first ball of the series in Brisbane and finishing the match a shattered man with figures of 1-177, 'Herald Sun' reported today.

Bowling coach Kevin Shine placed markers along Harmison's run-up in a bid to help him rediscover his balance at the point of delivery an area which has caused him immense problems.

While Harmison toiled in the nets, coach Duncan Fletcher mulled over the bowler's immediate Test future.

While it is unlikely Harmison will be axed for the crucial second Test as England aims to bounce back after a comprehensive 277-run defeat, Fletcher did not guarantee his spot, particularly if the tourists play two spinners.

"If we go in with two spinners, one of the seamers is going to have to be left out," Fletcher said, "We just have to look at the side and see if there is a chance we could play with two spinners.

"It's definitely in our minds. When we arrived in Australia, there were some wickets, and this could be one, where we could go in with two spinners," he said.
