Agarkar declared fit for SA one-day series
Friday, November 10, 2006 04:50 [IST]

Mumbai: Medium pacer Ajit Agarkar was today declared fit for the upcoming one-day series of the South Africa tour after he passed a fitness test overseen by team physio John Gloster.

"John Gloster took a fitness assessment of Ajit Agarkar at Bandra Kurla Ground today on his left hand injury. He will be fit to participate in the upcoming series against South Africa," BCCI secretary Niranjan Shah said in a press release.

Agarkar suffered a fracture in his left thumb during the Champions Trophy match against West Indies last month.

"He will continue to practice up till the time the team leaves on the 13th November, 2006," the release said.

India leave for South Africa on November 13 and will play five one-dayers and three Test matches. They play their first ODI on November 19 at the Wanderers, Johannesburg.
