India bag two bronze in third C'wealth Taekwondo C'ship

Mumbai :

India's Pankaj Dheer and Varsha Bende won bronze medals at the third Commonwealth Taekwondo championship held earlier this month in Australia.
Dheer and Varsha clinched the third place in their respective categories in the light weight section in the championship held at Brisbane Indoor Sports Centre on Oct 13, a media release from the Taekwondo Federation of India said.

TFI president Harish Kumar was also elected as the president of the Commonwealth Taekwondo Union for the next term by the General Assembly in the Commonwealth Congress held during the tournament, the release said.

The fourth championship has been awarded to Cananda to be held in 2008 while India would play host to the fifth edition of the event in 2010, it added.
