China to face Pakistan in Davis Cup Group I

Beijing: China will take on Pakistan in the Davis Cup Asia/Oceania Group I, second round play-offs here Friday (22 Sep, 2006).

Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi, 26, will spearhead the 28th ranked Pakistan team.

China, ranked 39th, will be looking forward for a much-needed win to retain their place in Group I and if they fail they would be relegated to Group II.

It has been 16 years since these two Davis Cup teams have met each other, with China holding a 3-1 overall advantage over Pakistan.
