Germany, Korea shut the door on the Dutch
Thursday, September 14 2006 11:58 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Monchengladbach: World champions Germany and Korea play out a goalless draw and shut the doors on the Netherlands while advancing to the semi-finals of the 11th FIH men's hockey World Cup from pool B here Wednesday (13 Sep, 2006).

Germany and Korea both finish with 11 points apiece and the draw, that was greeted by boos and whistles, leaves the Dutch on 10 points and in third place in the pool.

Australia and Spain qualified from pool A (rpt Pool A), but the semi-final line-up would be known after the day's last game, between the Aussies and Pakistan.

With the Dutch team watching the farcical proceedings helplessly from the stands, Germany and Korea make no pretense of a competition much to the disgust of the huge crowd at the Warsteiner Hockey Park here.
