Real Estate major DLF has tied up with the Women's Golf Association of India to be sponsors of the Professional Golf Tour and the Indian Open for a period of three years.
"Younger generation of amateur golfers will now be able to play the game with a completely new perspective and can look forward to making a career," WGAI Secretary General Champika Sayal says.
The tour will be for women above the age of 18 years.
The first event of the six-leg DLF Women's Golf Tour will be held at Delhi's Lado Sarai Golf Club from October 9-11 and the other five events will be held in different cities, which include Pune, Panchkula and Lucknow.
The last event will be held in from February 21-23 at Mauri bagh Golf Club in Lucknow.
The tour will carry a prize purse of Rs 9 lakh with each event carrying Rs 1.5 lakh.
Top four women players on the money list for the season will get exemption to play in DLF Women's Indian Open.
