Taufiq Hidayat beats Kashyap at Hong Kong Open

New Delhi: India's last hope in the Hong Kong Badminton championship, P Kashyap bows out after losing a keenly contested prequarterfinal against Olympic champion Taufiq Hidayat of Indonesia.

Kashyap, who pulled off a stunning upset against world no. 19 Przemyslaw Wacha of Poland Wednesday (30 Aug, 2006) comes up with a another gritty performance but is subdued 21-17 21-17 by the veteran Indodesian shuttler.

Hidayat, the reigning world champion, sets up a quarterfinal clash with top seed Lin Dan of China, who prevailed over Kay Bin yeoh of Malaysia 21-16 21-16.
