Khan, Sharan set up Indo-Pak Tennis final

New Delhi: Pakistan's top seed Aqeel Khan overcomes a first set deficit to defeat Aditya Madkekar and sets up an Indo-Pak final in the men's singles of the ITF Satellite Masters tennis here.

Khan, having already clinches the circuit after reaching the semifinals, confirms his dominance by beating Madkekar 4-6 6-4 6-1 at the DLTA Complex.

The top seed will have a tough fight on hands, though, when he takes on Divij Sharan in the final today (1 September 2006).

Local lad Sharan outlasts compatriot Navdeep Singh 3-6 6-1 6-4.

In the doubles, Sharan and Singh will come up against Khan and Vishal Punna in the summit clash.

Sharan and Singh oust Vijay Kannan and Ashutosh Singh 7-6 (3) 7-6 (5) while Khan and Punna knock out top seeds Mustafa Ghouse and Ravishankar Pathanjali 7-6 (3) 6-2 Wednesday (30 Aug, 2006).
