The national tennis teams of Pakistan and India will play a tennis Test match here on November 10.
Announcing this here Monday (28 Aug, 2006) following the Annual General Meeting of Chandigarh Lawn Tennis Association, Rajan Kashyap, Chairman, CLTA say they are making elaborate arrangements for this important international event.
The tie would consist of three matches, two singles and one doubles, featuring the top players of both countries, to be played on the synthetic hard center court of CLTA Tennis Stadium, Sector 10 here, which has a capacity to seat 7000 spectators.
Kashyap states that the All India Tennis Association and Pakistan Tennis Association have agreed to play four tennis tests, including the one in Chandigarh, the others being scheduled for Islamabad (November 6), Lahore (November 8) and Delhi (November 12).
Punjab Governor and Chandigarh Administator Gen (retd) S F Rodrigues has agreed to be Chairman of the Organising Committee, and has assured all support of Chandigarh Administration in making the event a success.
