The gold eluded regional powerhouse India on the final day of the competition as the last three events of the tenth South Asian Games are held here Monday (28 Aug, 2006).
All the medals are decided in the martial arts discipline of karate, and the Indians could manage only silver and a bronze.
Pakistan takes home two gold, while hosts Sri Lanka has one top podium finish.
India's silver comes from men's 80 kg kumite, where the country's leading karateka Anup Dethe loses out to Pakistan's S Ahmed in the final.
Bangladesh's M Hussain and R S Tawati of Nepal share the bronze.
India's D Syngkon gets a bronze in men's 55 kg kumite, along with Sri Lanka's V G W Raja Karuna, while Pakistan's Saadi Abbas claims the gold beating Ram Limbu of Nepal in the final.
There is some good news for the hosts as V C Gunaratne emerges champion in 50 kg men's kumite, overpowering T Mahmood of Pakistan in the final.
The bronze medals go to Nepal's R Dhahal and Md S Osman of Bangladesh.
