Borgetti quitting Bolton for Saudi Arabia
Tuesday, August 8 2006 14:50 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

London: Bolton's Mexico international striker Jared Borgetti is leaving the club to start a new career in Saudi Arabia, the English Premiership outfit announced Monday.

Wanderers have accepted a bid from Saudi giants Al Ittihad and the 32-year-old centre-forward is set to travel to the Middle East shortly to sort out personal terms.

Borgetti, who is Mexico's record goalscorer, has scored just seven goals since his move from Mexican side Pachuca for one million pounds last summer.

He was unable to hold down a regular place in Sam Allardyce's side and sought a move after it became clear he faced another season on the sidelines.

"I am hopeful the deal will be concluded this week," Bolton boss Allardyce told the club's official website.

"It hasn't worked out for Jared at Bolton. He needs to find regular football to enhance his career prospects," he said.
